So as I said on my forum at ABestWeb.com today, I needed a poken last week for the upcoming Affiliate Summit West. After some research on Twitter, I found out that not all poken vendors are equal. Some are better converters in affiliate marketing than others. I looked at the available merchants in ShareASale and one stood out far from the others – PokenZoo.com.

After I ordered my dragon poken, I started a conversation with the owner of PokenZoo and found out he needed help managing his program. He has sooo many orders that he couldn’t keep up with building personal relationships with affiliates, nor could he be proactive in recruiting. I was happy to offer him my services.

What Is a Poken? Poken solves one simple problem: how do I remember the email addresses and screen names of everyone I meet? You Poken, of course. When you meet other Poken owners in the real world, quickly swap information. No more writing down email addresses or long blog names. Just touch Pokens and connect. Poken holds your contact information: name, address, email, mobile phone, and the rest, and it also holds your social networking account names. Poken contains your FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn and other accounts. Already know all your friends’ profiles? Even better. When you Poken and they Poken, you’ll automatically have updates when they open a new social networking account. Ride the social networking wave with Poken.

30 Day EPC: $25.48
30 Day Conversion: 2%
30 Day Average Sale: $76.37
Commission: 20%

This week I made a major investment for myself and my affiliate management clients. I opened up a branded forum for Greg Hoffman Consulting on ABestWeb.com, the premier forum for the affiliate industry. This is an exciting step for me. I’ve always been a lurker on the forums, only participating every once in a while. In fact I only had 150 posts on ABW since joining in July 2006. I had been reading ABW posts since 2004…

I posted my first few threads tonight and poured over every character to make sure it was just right. I want this experience to be positive for me, my clients and the affiliates interested in the programs I manage. I will pop over into the general forums as much as I can and contribute to the conversations with the community. This is truly a kinder, gentler forum than I remember a few years ago. I look forward to working with everyone there.

This isn’t something new but it certainly is big for me. I already had a non-branded forum over on Affspot.com, an independent alternative to ABW, but with iNetInteractive taking over ownership and Michael Coley set as the new admin at ABW, I knew it was time. I won’t get involved in the banter or the history between the two forums but I will say that Scott Medlock, the sole owner of Affspot.com, is a great guy and is doing a fine job bringing in quality traffic. But it’s not the big dog…

My welcome at ABW was tremendous. I was happy to see many faces from last year’s ShareASale Think Tank and I know this will open up new relationships when I attend Affiliate Summit West next month.

I’ll see you on ABestWeb.
