Are you an online marketer? Then you need #GetSome in your life. Drink it. Eat it. Live it. Love it. Follow the hashtag on Twitter.
Don’t think of it as a crude term without eloquence, think of it as as an 8-character mission statement. Some will say it’s an anthem, a call to action, a mantra, a way of life, a personal motto, a battle cry, a philosophy for business or a money making slogan. It is what you make of it. The inspiration for this article is Jason Rubacky, ShareASale Affiliate Development Manager. I’ve known Jason for several years now and his approach to life is to excel at whatever he does. Jason has been an affiliate, an affiliate manager and now the personal hero of many younger affiliates in the industry. They flock to him and hang on every word, especially during one of his infamous whiteboard sessions.
The definition of #GetSome in my mind is simple inspiration in the hashtag era. It represents everything we need to convey to others that we are committed to excellence. In the affiliate industry, managers can use it to motivate affiliates to get active. Affiliates use it to show competitiveness and solidarity.
Here is the definition as Jason sees it:
To me #GetSome is my way of life. I strive to be the BEST at every thing I do! I have seen a lot of of talented people in my life miss out on huge opportunites due to not having the drive and motivation to finish. It’s all about taking what you want and owning it. Don’t let anything stand in your way. If something changes just look at it like a game, just another level for you to learn and complete. Don’t back down from challenges!
“I don’t run from it, I embrace it, I like fear….Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I invite fear!”
In order to really #GetSome you can’t go half-ass.. it’s a must for you to be on your game “All Day… Every Day!” #GetSome
I’ve also polled a few people in the affiliate industry and asked them for their opinion of the #GetSome phenomenon and what it means to them:
Mike Buechele: #GetSome captures the attitude of the home grown affiliate. Rather than climb a corporate ladder, we’ve chosen to captain a pirate ship. I don’t need to be the biggest affiliate, or own the most expensive toys since my satisfaction comes from the freedom of living my life and running my business on my terms.
Tricia Meyer: #GetSome isn’t a motto or catchphrase, it’s a state of mind. It’s about getting aggressive to get what you want and taking chances.
Eric Nagel: We live in a world of opportunities: ours for the taking. But nobody is going to hand them to you. If you want to succeed, you have to get out there and work for it. You are the only one holding you back. #GetSome
Brandon Barnett: More than just a mantra or philosophy, #GetSome is a lifestyle and attitude. It’s giving 100% of what you’ve got, 100% of the time and “getting yours” in your business and in life.
See the laptop sticker in the photo? That’s just a taste of what is coming. Follow Jason on his personal site – JasonRubacky.com and follow him on Twitter. #GetSome branded products and a clothing line are on the way!

Jason Rubacky is the best affiliate manager over there @ Share a Sale #GetSome. Cheers to an awesome guy that everybody should get to know #GetSome!
#GetSome to me means taking what's yours, believing in yourself, let nothing stand in your way, and as Jason has always done, #PayitForward too.
I think #payitforward is a great supplement. Thanks for pointing that out, Sarah.
Jason is sharing his key to motivate us all to work hard to live a dream-fulfilled life. #GetSome for me symbolizes that we are only at the very edge of the endless possibilities open to us in life and in the marketing industry. Thanks for the inspiration Jason! Can't wait to see the product line – I want to #GetSome. Nice post Greg
#GetSome means lunch to me right about now :p
See, it works on many levels. I went to Firehouse Subs….
Great post! I love reading what it means to everyone. It's all a little bit different but still that same "vibe" of action and moving forward. What I really like is that it doesn't mean just taking something but EARNING it.
EARNING it is another great point…
To me #Getsome means "JUST DO IT"….. "LETS GET IT!"…."IT'S GOING DOWN"…. "GIT-R-DONE" basically anything that inspires you to go out there and do what you need to do to get where you want to be!
Did Mr. Nunez just say Git-r-done? Well said…Thanks.
How do I #GetSome photo credit? :p
I stole the photos from Jason’s Facebook page.
Just needed a reason to use #GetSome and bust your chops simultaneously. Thanks
So what does #GetSome mean to you, Shawn?
#GetSome represents the duality of man – the combination of leather and lace or caviar and malt liquor.
You know what I'm saying?
sharing information and taking over the internet.
I live under the lifestyle of #GetSome every single day.
Great Post! #GetSome to me means is giving it all with everything you do! Making eggs, playing sports or grinding on the internet! There is no point to even exist if you are not going to give it your all. I heard Jason once say "Go Hard or Go Home!" #GetSome
I know exactly what you are saying. I love it when a plan comes together.
